The much anticipated 4th edition of the Global Diaspora Week (GDWeek), is set to take place from 21 to 27 January 2025.

The week-long virtual event will be held under the theme: “Global Diaspora, Local Impact: Advancing Systematic Approaches in Development and Humanitarian Efforts.”

Stakeholders at the event will be focusing on the crucial role diaspora communities are playing in improving lives in their home countries through remittances, investments, and philanthropy.

The GDWeek is organized and hosted by the Global Diaspora Confederation (GDC).

Having achieved its first milestone in delivering the 3S strategy; that is – Synergize, Systemize, and Sustain, the GDC is now geared to ignite its next phase: Systemize, to build a global ecosystem to support diaspora organizations.

The GDWeek will feature the 4th Global Diaspora Assembly and Annual Humanitarian Meeting, with activities including Diaspora Training Trove, Introduction to MHPSS and Volunteer Management, and many more.

Over the past three years, GDWeek has become a transformative platform for the global diaspora, directly engaging over 30 million diasporas and supporting more than 2,000 organizations, partners, and stakeholders participated.

With over 300 speakers and participants from more than 100 countries, it has fostered collaboration, amplified diaspora contributions, and strengthened the capacity of organizations driving local and global development.

By uniting a diverse global audience, GDWeek has inspired innovative approaches, built strategic partnerships, and positioned itself as a hub for advancing impactful solutions in the development and humanitarian sectors.
