The Global Diaspora Confederation (GDC) in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and United States Agency for International Development (USAID) invite you to the Global Diaspora Humanitarian Hub.
Through the virtual event scheduled to be held on July 30, 2022, from 1pm to 3pm UTC, diaspora organizers and supporters will engage in a consultation meeting on the development of the humanitarian hub.
Under the focal theme of “Exploring the Foundations of a Humanitarian Hub: Consultation to discuss the possible functions and added value of a diaspora humanitarian platform”, the event will help explore how stronger diaspora coordination can better support communities affected by disasters and other crisis.
The Meeting will be the first in a series of consultations that will further explore functions of the humanitarian hub in consultation with Diaspora Organizations; and the role the Hub might play in strengthening communications, increasing coordination and cooperation in humanitarian responses through advocacy, coordination and partnership.
The Global Diaspora Confederation aims to build on the progress of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Global Framework for Diaspora Engagement in Humanitarian Assistance by providing an opportunity to enable, engage and empower diaspora organisations to effectively provide humanitarian assistance to their communities in need before, during and after crisis.
