In March 2024, the global diaspora audience and beyond were inspired by 52 extraordinary women who shared various thought provoking quotes during the second edition of Diaspora Digital News’ flagship initiative: ‘Celebrating Diaspora Women.’
The initiative, which turned out very successful not only shared quotes, but also sought to celebrate the remarkable achievements of these special women in the diaspora/migration space for all 31 days of March 2024.
The second edition of the initiative dubbed ‘Celebrating Diaspora Women 2.0’, adopted the general campaign theme for this year’s International Women’s Day: “Inspire Inclusion”, in addition to the United Nations’ theme: “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress.”
The selfless, resilient and phenomenal women who took part in the initiative spread across all continents, and were selected based on the impact they were making in their various fields within the diaspora/migration space. Patrons were also asked to nominate women who they believed should be celebrated, and the feedback was great, yielding excellent results.
In the first edition, 42 women from all parts of the world were celebrated for their good works; as they shared thought provoking and inspirational quotes about their experiences and opinions on a range of developmental issues.
This year, patrons can find a compilation of all the quotes via a dedicated page on Diaspora Digital News’ website, where you can additionally click on the online profiles of all 52 women celebrated. There is also an option to download a copy of the Compilation.
