The First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska has met with members of her country’s diaspora in Denmark to thank them and acknowledge their assistance.
The meeting, which took place at Ukranian House in Denmark was also attended by the UWC Vice President for Northern Europe, Roman Mykytenko, Ambassador Andriy Yanevsky, and members of the Association of Ukranians in Denmark.
In a Facebook post to thank participants and the diaspora, Olena Zelenska said:
“During the visit, I was glad to meet the head of Bevar Ukraine Andrii Kuzmin, Roman Mykytenko and their colleagues.
Help is always inspiring. Especially when it is organized by Ukrainians for Ukrainians, providing not only support, but also an example of Ukrainian cooperation in any corner of the world.
Bevar means “to save” in Danish. The charity volunteer union Bevar Ukraine fully lives up to its name: during the 10 years of the Russian invasion, since 2014, it has transferred 299 trucks and planes with humanitarian and medical cargo to Ukraine, helped 785 hospitals and educational institutions.
In Denmark itself, it supports Ukrainian forced migrants, offering socio-legal and psychological assistance and organizing a rest camp for refugee children.”
