The Hilton Convention Center in Geneva, Switzerland will host a celebration of Luum Award’s second edition on November 4, 2022.

The Luum Awards is the only festival that exclusively awards creative communications for social or environmental issues.

Grand Judges confirmed for this edition

Top-level juries from NGOs and creative agencies have confirmed their participation in this edition. Among those confirmed are Genna Ingold, Communications Manager (Kofi Annan Foundation); Pravara Sardesai, Marketing Officer (UNICEF); Loretta Favarato, Communications Manager (International Labour Organization (ILO); Natasha Wooderson,  Head of Internal Communications, Diversity & Inclusion, ANJ (The Kraft Heinz Company); Charlotte Sector, Multimedia Communications and Advocacy Manager (UNAIDS); Alix Pennycuick, Global Executive Creative Director (Media Monks); Lauren Haberfield, Executive Creative Director (Edelman); Elena Khishchenko, Head of Global Campaigns (WWF); Jean-Paul Brunier, Global Client leader (Publicis Group); Jerome Ooi, Executive Creative Director (TBWA\Hong Kong); Renata Leao, Executive Creative Director (David Sao Paulo); Valerie Madon, Chief Creative Officer Asia (VML&R) among others.

Background and new edition

In the 2021 edition, the most impactful and awarded campaigns in various competitions took home gold medals from the festival, which sought to award the year’s best ideas for promoting social and environmental issues. Among the stand-out winners, were ALMA DDB (USA), Bruketa &Zinic &Grey (Croatia), Isobar Dentsu – Achtung (UK + Kenya), Edelman (UK), El Taier DDB – Centro, Havas Health & You (Brazil), M&C Saatchi (Indonesia), McCan Health (China), Mindshare (Spain), Sajo McCann (USA), TAXI VML&R (Canada), GettingBetter (Spain), Cossette (Canada), VML&R (Colombia), M&C Saatchi (United Arab Emirates), among others.

At the Luum Awards, creative agencies and communications companies can upload up to four entries free of entry costs, in a format where only winners pay award fees. It should also be noted that the festival only awards gold medals to the first-place winners in each subcategory, meaning that there are no silvers or bronzes for second or third place finishes.

Participants will be able to upload their cases for the festival’s 8 categories and respective subcategories: 

1. Essence of the Message (Awards the positive essence of the message: brand stories that, in addition to their commercial intent, seek to raise awareness of issues such as empowerment, equity, family, and other human values needed for a more positive society); 2. Human Rights;

3. Environment;

4. Communication for public entities and NGOs;

5. Eco-friendly and social design;

6. Causes;

7. Society;

8. Health and Wellness (contribution of health and well-being for a more just and balanced society).

This is an opportunity for stakeholders to prove that they are agents of change and are capable of much more than just great ideas for companies and advertisers.

Case Registration Closure: September 29, 2022

Award Ceremony: November 4, 2022
